About the design
Around AD 112, Roman governor Pliny the Younger wrote to Emperor Trajan about Christians who gathered before daylight to sing hymns to Christ. His account offers a remarkable glimpse into the faith and devotion of the early Church.
Before Dawn draws inspiration from these early gatherings, featuring a small ancient-style oil lamp on the front and a larger, vintage engraving-inspired illustration of Christian worship on the back.
With its deliberately worn, weathered artwork, the design reflects a simple but powerful truth: from the earliest generations of Christianity, believers made worship a central part of their lives.
A reminder that faith does not wait for the perfect moment. Even before dawn, Christ was worthy of praise.
Historical inspiration: Pliny the Younger, Letters 10.96, c. AD 112.
